1. What we take back

When you buy a new electrical or electronic appliance we take back a used appliance of the same kind and quantity, one for one and free of charge, at the delivery address (the WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU as transposed in Hungary). It does not matter where or when you bought the old appliance, only that it serves the same purpose as the new one (a kettle for a kettle, a hair dryer for a hair dryer).

2. How to ask for it

When you choose home delivery, tick the box at the checkout asking for the free collection of your old electrical appliance of a similar kind; the request appears on the order acknowledgement. The courier collects the old appliance on delivery. Please have it ready: emptied, cleaned and, where possible, packed in the new appliance's box or another closed package. At a parcel point or locker the courier cannot take an appliance; use the options in section 4, or tell customer service and we arrange the collection separately.

3. What the crossed out bin means

Electrical waste must not go into household waste. The crossed out wheeled bin on the product or its packaging means the appliance has to be collected separately at the end of its life, because it contains hazardous and recyclable materials. Appliances we take back are handed to a licensed waste operator, and we keep a record of the quantities collected.

4. Other ways to hand one in

You can also hand in a used appliance free of charge at the civic amenity site where you live, at the electronics collection of a municipal clearance, and at the collection points of the concession company MOHU MOL Hulladékgazdálkodási Zrt. that runs the Hungarian extended producer responsibility system. Many shops take small appliances without a purchase.

5. Packaging and producer responsibility

For the packaging used in delivery the seller meets its duties under the Hungarian extended producer responsibility system through the concession company (MOHU MOL Hulladékgazdálkodási Zrt.). Please put the packaging (paper, film, filler) into separate collection.
