1. Why this notice exists

A shop that shows customer reviews has to say whether it checks that a review was written by a consumer who actually bought or used the product, and if so how (Directive 2005/29/EC as amended by Directive (EU) 2019/2161). This notice does that, and it describes how we handle unlawful content.

2. How we check reviews

• After delivery we email a single use review link tied to the order to anyone who consented to it at the checkout. A review submitted through that link is marked "verified purchase", because the system ties it to a delivered order.
• A review can also be submitted from the product page without a link. We examine it too, and if it meets the rules it can appear, but it is marked "verified purchase" only if we can tie the writer's email address to a delivered order.
• Verified and unverified reviews both count towards the star average; you can filter by the mark.

3. What we do not do

• We do not pay for reviews and give no discount, points or gift for a rating. The review invitation email carries no coupon.
• We do not delete or hide a review because it is negative, and we do not select by star rating.
• We do not write reviews of our own products, do not order reviews from third parties and do not use reviews written by artificial intelligence.
• We do not edit the content of a review; we only mask personal data (telephone number, email address, full name).

4. When we moderate

A review or question is withheld where it is unlawful, abusive or obscene, carries a third party's personal data, is not about the product (for instance about delivery, which belongs to customer service), contains advertising or links, or makes a plainly untrue claim. The writer is told the reason by email with an explanation and can object to customer service.

5. Reporting unlawful content

If you believe a published review or question is unlawful, report it at [email protected] with the location of the content (the product page address), the reason, your name and email address, and a statement that the report is made in good faith. We examine the report without delay, diligently and without arbitrariness, and tell both you and the writer our decision and its reasons (Articles 16 and 17 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065).

6. The overall rating and the order

The star average is calculated from every published review, unweighted. By default reviews are shown most helpful first (by other customers' "helpful" marks); you can switch the order to newest, highest or lowest rating, and the product page always shows the order in use.

7. Data protection

The name given on submission is shown with the review; on request we remove the name or delete the review. The privacy notice has the detail.
